LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Winds will kick up in parts of the Southland starting early tomorrow morning and persist through tomorrow afternoon – with gusts expected to top out around 50 mph, the National Weather Service said today.
Wind advisories were in place from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday for the Los Angeles County Mountains, excluding the Santa Monica Range, the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys, and the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area.
North to northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 50 were expected in the mountains, to 40 mph in the valleys, and to 45 in the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area.
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,'' the NWS said.
“Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.''
