LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A portion of the Metro C (Green) Line is closed today and will remain out of service through Saturday as crews upgrade signal systems along the line.

The C Line closure between the Lakewood Boulevard and Vermont/Athens stations began Thursday night. Free shuttle bus service is being offered between those stations, also servicing the Long Beach Boulevard, Willowbrook/Rosa Parks, Avalon and Harbor Freeway stations.

The closure will not affect the Metro A (Blue) Line service at the Willowbrook/Rosa Parks station, or the J (Silver) Line service at the Harbor Freeway station.

Bus shuttles along the C Line will mirror the train schedule on Friday. On Saturday, the buses will run every 15 minutes from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and every 20 minutes all other times.

Regular service on the line will continue between the Norwalk and Lakewood Boulevard stations, and between the Vermont/Athens and Redondo Beach stations.
