A question that is heavily asked by fans of "The Beatles" is who called for the breakup of the band? Paul McCartney has now given his side of the iconic breakup.

While speaking on an episode of BBC Radio 4's show, "This Cultural Life", Paul McCartney said John Lennon wanted to break up the band.

"I didn't instigate the split,"... "That was our Johnny.''

Paul stated

Since the breakup of "The Beatles", fans have wondered what contributed to the breakup and who instigated the breakup, in general.

John Wilson, the person who interviewed Paul McCartney, asked about Paul's decision to go on his own... Paul would respond:

"Stop right there. I am not the person who instigated the split. Oh no, no, no. John walked into a room one day and said, 'I am leaving The Beatles.' Is that instigating the split, or not?"

McCartney would then discuss wanting to continue with the band:

"This was my band, this was my job, this was my life. So I wanted it to continue,"
