California Passes Law Protecting Warehouse Workers

California has passed a new law protecting warehouse workers for retail giants like Amazon.

  • The law bans companies from firing workers for missing quotas due to bathroom or rest breaks. It also allows employees to sue over unsafe quotas.
California is the first U.S. state to pass such a law. Gov. Gavin Newsom signed it Wednesday, announcing "We cannot allow corporations to put profit over people."
  • Do companies like Amazon push their employees too far? Have you ever worked in a warehouse setting? What are some things people might not understand about the job?
