The U.S. announced Monday it will allow international travelers to fly into the country this fall if they have proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test.
- The changes, set to take effect in early November, will allow families and others who have been separated by travel restrictions for 18 months to see each other again.
- Officials say international visitors will need to show proof of vaccination before boarding and a negative coronavirus test within three days of coming to the U.S.
- Meanwhile, unvaccinated Americans who want to travel home from overseas will have to clear stricter testing requirements, including a negative COVID-19 test one day before traveling to the U.S.
