Pfizer Says COVID-19 Vaccine Safe, Effective For Kids Ages 5 To 11

In a highly anticipated announcement, Pfizer-BioNTech said Monday its COVID-19 vaccine is safe and generates a "robust" immune response in a clinical trial of kids ages 5 to 11.

  • A two-dose regimen of 10 micrograms, about a third of the dosage used for teens and adults, was administered three weeks apart in the trials.
The data, which included more than 2,200 children, will be submitted to the Food and Drug Administration and other health regulators "as soon as possible," according to a statement from Pfizer-BioNTech.

Once approved, will you get your kid(s) under the age of 11 the COVID-19 vaccine?
