LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was unchanged today, one day after dropping four-tenths of a cent.

The average price of $4.403 is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago, 2.1 cents higher than one month ago and $1.176 greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen $1.169 since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose four-tenths of a cent to $4.368, one day after dropping one-tenth of a cent. It is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 2 cents higher than one month ago and $1.166 greater than one year ago. It has risen $1.157 since the start of the year.

Gas prices have stabilized due to a drop of nearly $1 to the price of a barrel of West Texas intermediate crude oil since last week and the flattening of demand with the end of the summer driving season, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
