Some Airlines Are Starting To Ban Cloth Masks

There's a growing trend among international airlines to ban cloth masks, including Canada Air, Air France, and Finnair.

  • According to Fortune, these airlines have deemed cloth masks to be insufficient protection against COVID-19 on flights.
  • Instead, the airlines urge passengers to wear masks designed for healthcare settings, such as surgical masks or KN95 masks.
  • Currently, most U.S. airlines do not allow bandanas or scarves to be used as face coverings but don't require a specific type of mask otherwise.
  • If you have flown recently, what kind of COVID precautions have you taken or seen someone else take? (masks/face shields/gloves/goggles?)
