ANAHEIM (CNS) - A man suffered bites from an Anaheim Police Department K-9 after he attempted to harm his father with a knife and barricaded himself inside a house, authorities said today.

The incident began at about 7:40 p.m. Sunday when the man tried to stab his father with a knife inside a home in the 300 block of Adele Street, Anaheim Police Sgt. Shane Carringer told City News Service.

The father was able to get out of the house but the son refused to come out, Carringer said.

A police dog was sent into the house and bit the suspect, causing him to surrender at about 11:45 p.m., the sergeant said.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of dog bites before he could be booked, Carringer added.
