CULVER CITY (CNS) - Police today were searching for two suspects in a shooting at the Westfield Culver City mall that left one man hospitalized in critical condition with multiple bullet wounds.

The crime happened around 7:40 Thursday night near a JCPenny store at the mall, located at 6000 Sepulveda Blvd., according to the Culver City Police Department.

Police said they received a 911 call reporting a dispute between the two suspects and another man. At some point, one of the suspects shot the third man multiple times before both suspects ran toward a mall exit -- the last time the suspects were seen.

There was no word about the nature of the dispute.

No description of the suspects was immediately available.

Police evacuated the mall and established a perimeter to conduct a search, but the suspects remained at large as of Friday morning.

Meanwhile, the victim was still in critical condition, Culver City Police Sgt. Chris Ferrier said.

Anyone with information about the crime was asked to call the Culver City Police Department watch commander at 310-253-6202.
