LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 10-day streak of stability ended today when the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose a half-cent to $4.391.
The average price had changed by two-tenths of a cent or less for 10 consecutive days through Tuesday, including remaining unchanged Sunday and Tuesday and dropping one-tenth of a cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is two-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 3.4 cents higher than one month ago and $1.181 more than one year ago. It has risen $1.159 since the start of the year.
A five-day streak of decreases to the Orange County average price totaling 1.5 cents ended Wednesday with an increase of six-tenths of a cent to $4.356. It is six-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 3.5 cents higher than one month ago and $1.165 more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has risen $1.129 since the start of the year.
