Pedestrian Killed in Fullerton Collision; Driver Arrested

FULLERTON (CNS) - A man attempting to cross a street in Fullerton was struck and killed by vehicle whose driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, police said today.

Officers were called at 9:13 p.m. Thursday to Chapman Avenue and Victoria Drive where they found a man who had been struck by a vehicle, according to Sgt. Brandon Coyle, the Fullerton Police Department's public information officer.

The man was laying in the eastbound lanes of Chapman Avenue, near Annin Avenue, with significant traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Coyle said.

The driver remained at the scene and was arrested after a drug recognition expert conducted a field driving under the influence investigation.

The cause of the collision was under investigation.
