HOLLYWOOD (CNS) - The Netflix romantic drama “Virgin River'' and “Manifest'' were the two most-watched streamed programs for the second consecutive week, according to figures released today by Nielsen.

Viewers watched 1.27 billion minutes of the 30 episodes of “Virgin River'' from July 19-25. Viewership was down 39.8% from the 2.109 billion minutes the previous week, the first full week its 10-episode third season was available.

“Manifest'' was second with 939 million minutes watched of its 29 episodes, 27.4% less than the 1.294 billion minutes watched the previous week when it became the first program to be watched for more than 1 billion minutes for six consecutive weeks. Nielsen began publicly disclosing streaming viewership figures on Sept. 3, 2020, with the first report covering the week of Aug. 3-9 of that year.

There were two programs in the latest top 10 that were not in the previous week's, topped by Netflix's coming of age comedy-drama  ”Never Have I Ever,'' sixth with 567 million minutes watched, including its 10-episode second season, which was in its first full week of release.

The 2010-15 Public Broadcasting Service British historical drama “Downton Abbey'' returned to the top 10 after a one-week absence, finishing 10th, with 407 million minutes watched of its 50 episodes which stream on Netflix.

Dropping out of the top 10 were the Marvel Cinematic Universe series “Loki'' and the Netflix action film “Gunpowder Milkshake.''

There were nine Netflix programs in the top 10 and one from Disney+, the computer-animated coming-of-age fantasy film “Luca,'' eighth for the week, with 454 million minutes watched. Nielsen also announces streaming viewership of Amazon Prime Video and Hulu programming.

The top 10 consisted of five programs that originally aired on U.S. or British broadcast networks, three original streaming series, one movie and “CoComelon,'' which originated on YouTube.

The top 10 programs were “Virgin River''; “Manifest''; “Grey's Anatomy''; “CoComelon''; “Criminal Minds''; “Never Have I Ever''; “NCIS''; “Luca''; “Atypical''; and “Downton Abbey.''

The figures only reflect television set-related viewing, including such television-connected devices as Roku and Apple TV. Mobile-only viewing is not included in Nielsen's streaming measurement systems.
