TSA Expected to Extend Mask Mandate until 2022

The Transportation Security Administration is expected to extend its order that requires masks on planes until early next year.

  • Although the TSA has not yet made an official announcement, a number of media sources are reporting the order, which was originally set to expire September 13th, will be extended until January 18th, 2022. When asked to confirm the news, TSA officials on Tuesday released a statement in which they say they do "not yet have an announcement regarding face masks at this time."
  • Since the current mandate was put into place, airlines officials have reported more than 2,867 incidents in which passengers refused to wear masks, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
  • Would you even feel comfortable on a plane right now?
