Ocean Water Warnings Issued for Four LA County Beaches

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Health officials are advising the public to beware of potentially hazardous water conditions at four Los Angeles County beaches.

The county Department of Public Health is warning people to use caution swimming, surfing and playing in ocean waters at Mothers Beach in Marina del Rey, Malibu Lagoon at Surfrider Beach, the Santa Monica Pier and Avalon Beach at Catalina Island, 50 feet west of the pier.

The warnings particularly apply near discharging storm drains, creeks, and rivers.

Recorded information on beach conditions is available 24 hours a day on the county's beach closure hotline at 800-525-5662.
