TARZANA (CNS) - Police today were searching for five suspects who tied up a husband and wife at their Tarzana residence and stole property from their home.

Officers were called to the house in the 18200 block of Valley Vista Boulevard just before 8:55 p.m. Monday, according to Officer William Cooper of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Division.

Surveillance footage from the scene showed the five men, armed with handguns, emerging from bushes outside the house as the woman was returning home from work.

Officers learned from the couple that the men approached the woman and pushed their way into the house, alerting the woman's husband who was inside watching television.

The home invaders tied up the man and the woman before moving through the house and stealing unspecified property.

After the suspects fled the scene, the couple were able to call police who arrived at the scene and freed them from their bondage, KTLA5 reported.

The suspects were described as men in their 30s who all wore dark-colored clothing and masks. No further description was provided.

No injuries were reported in the robbery, Cooper said.
