SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 42-year-old Anaheim man was charged today with stabbing two patrons in a restaurant in Anaheim.

Jose Islasrios was charged with attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He also faces sentencing enhancements for attempted premeditated murder and inflicting great bodily injury on a victim.

Police were called at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday to a Mexican restaurant in the 1700 block of West La Palma Avenue regarding the stabbing of two men, according to Sgt. Shane Carringer of the Anaheim Police Department.

Islasrios “was a regular in the restaurant and never had any problems with anybody, but he walked into the restaurant, completely unprovoked, and stabbed two patrons,'' Carringer said.

Islasrios lives near the restaurant, Carringer said.

The victims sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries, Carringer said.
