Javier Pardini moved here with his mom at 14years old and went to Kennedy HS in Granada Hills, where he had to learn English. Then studied business at CSUN. He started working at Gaucho Grill Argentine restaurant in college, starting as a bus boy, working his way up to host, waiter, then manager. His dream was to open his own restaurant some day. He opened Malbec restaurant in Pasadena in 2009 with two partners.

Born and raised in Cordoba, Argentina Javier wanted to pay homage to his childhood memories growing up in the Argentine countryside, and his father's memory, by incorporating the idea of the classic Argentine asado (barbecue) in his new concept, focusing on high quality ingredients, cooked in a traditional, rustic manner.

Bodega Malbec honors this tradition serving up top quality meats over an open fire and straight to your table. Their menu also features many other dishes inspired by both our Italian and Spanish roots. From Homemade pasta, paella, asado, and of course World renowned wine, Bodega Malbec brings a little piece of our history to you and yours.
