Firefighters knocked down a fire inside a wooden structure atop an outdoor metal storage shed in Sun Valley today, with the smoke impacting traffic on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway.

The blaze at 12398 Sheldon St. was reported at 2:31 p.m., according to spokeswoman Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The California Highway Patrol temporarily stopped all northbound traffic on the 5 Freeway near the site because of the smoke, Stewart said.

The department sent 36 firefighters to the scene and extinguished the flames in about 22 minutes, she said.

 No injuries were reported.
