Coroner Identifies Man Killed in Crash on Harbor Freeway in Carson

CARSON (CNS) - The Coroner's Office today released the name of a 19- year-old man who was struck and killed by a vehicle while lying on the Harbor (110) Freeway in Carson.  

The man was identified as Gabriel Galvez, of Carson, according to the coroner's office.  

Officers were dispatched at 12:39 a.m. Saturday to the southbound freeway, north of Carson Street, the California Highway Patrol reported.  

Galvez was lying in the No. 2 lane of the southbound freeway, where he was struck by a 1999 Lexus that was going between 65 to 70 mph, the CHP said. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the 17-year-old boy driving the Lexus was not injured.
