LONG BEACH (CNS) - Two suspects allegedly involved in a robbery last month in Long Beach are in police custody today.
One suspect, who is a 15-year-old female, turned herself in to police Thursday and was booked on one count of robbery, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
A 16-year-old female suspect was arrested June 28 and booked on one count of robbery, police said.
Through video evidence and the assistance of the public, detectives were able to identify both suspects in the robbery.
Police were called at approximately 12:49 p.m. June 24 to the 300 block of East Peace Street regarding a violent robbery, police said.
When officers arrived, they contacted an female adult victim, who stated she was walking down the street when two female suspects attacked her and attempted to take her purse. During the incident, the two suspects took the victim's wallet and the victim sustained minor injuries, police said.
Both suspects fled the area on foot.
