“We are thrilled to welcome Eva Longoria to the Board of Trustees, where her dedication to inclusiveness, education, and philanthropy will contribute powerfully to our work in guiding the Academy Museum,'' said Ted Sarandos, chairman of the museum's board and co-CEO of Netflix. “Sid Ganis, a towering figure in our industry, has been critical to the entire process of making the Academy Museum a reality. We are proud to recognize his commitment by naming him a lifetime honorary trustee.''

Other members of the museum's board are Miky Lee, Kimberly Steward, Jim Gianopulos, Patricia S. The board is charged with “adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies in addition to securing adequate resources to advance the museum's mission.''

The 300,000-square-foot museum spans two buildings at Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, based largely in the former May Co. building but extending into a spherical structure housing a major film theater and open-air terrace. The museum will feature 50,000 square feet of exhibition space, along with two theaters, educational studio, restaurant and other amenities.
