Man Fatally Shot in Long Beach; Killer Sought

LONG  BEACH (CNS) - A man was fatally shot as he sat in a vehicle in Long Beach, and police today sought public help to find his killer.

The crime was reported about 10:40 p.m. Thursday at 15th Street and Cedar Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Rafael Araiza, 22, of Long Beach died at the scene, police said.

“While the motive is not yet known, the case is currently being investigated as gang-related,'' police said in a statement.

No suspect description was available. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call detectives at 562-570-7244, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
