A Massachusetts Bar Has a Plan to Accept Monopoly Money as Payment

Handel often likes to make this joke:

"When I go to a restaurant and ask for a Diet Coke and they say 'is Pepsi okay?' I like to respond with, 'I don't know, is Monopoly money okay?'."

And if he went to a certain bar in Worcester, Massachusetts he may finally get to say it and have it pay off!

Ralph's Tavern spokesman Eric Lindquist says the bar will accept Monopoly money as a form of payment from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

"The idea came about during one of those after-midnight discussions after a couple of frosty beers at Ralph’s. We joked back and forth about it, until owner Scot Bove said, ‘I’m in.’”

There's actually a motive behind the bar's madness.

Hasbro recently announced a Worcester-themed version of the board game and Bove is hoping that his bar will be included as one of the properties.
