LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The Los Angeles Department of Animal Services is offering discounted pet adoption fees today through Saturday to celebrate Father's Day this weekend.
Adult dogs, normally available for $102, can be adopted for $51, and puppies, normally available for $150, can be adopted for $75. The reduced fee does not include a $20 license required for Los Angeles city residents. The license is used to identify the owner of an animal that is lost.
Adult cats, normally available for $25, can be adopted for $12.50, and kittens, normally available for $50, can be adopted for $25.
L.A. Animal Services hopes the “Paw-ther's Day'' special will encourage people to adopt pets, and those wishing to take advantage of the offer can call 888-452-7381 to make an appointment.
Before deciding on a pet, potential adopters can meet the animals in a shelter's play yard or designated area. All COVID-19 safety protocols and physical distancing guidelines must be observed, and face coverings are required during the appointment.
