LONG BEACH (CNS) - A man was struck by a vehicle and killed while crossing a street in the Los Altos neighborhood of Long Beach, authorities said today.
The crash was reported at 11:20 p.m. Saturday at Stearns Street and Radnor Avenue, said Long Beach police Lt. Shaleana Benson.
The man was walking outside the crosswalk when he was struck, Benson said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released pending notification of relatives.
The vehicle's driver stopped and was detained for an investigation into whether alcohol was a factor in the crash, she said.
