Man Shot While Walking Downtown  

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man was shot and wounded as he walked in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said today.  

The shooting was reported just after 7 p.m. at Alameda and 14th streets, according to Officer A. Lampe of the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations Center.  

The suspect approached the victim and shot him before fleeing, Lampe said.  

Paramedics took the victim to a hospital where his vital signs were stable, he said.
