SAN MARINO (CNS) - San Marino police arrested three people who led them on a chase in a stolen car, authorities said today.

Officers saw the vehicle near Huntington Drive and San Marino Avenue after receiving an alert via an automated license plate reading system about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday that indicated it had been reported stolen, according to the San Marino Police Department.

“As officers were attempting to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle quickly fled at a high rate of speed through a residential area,'' police said in a statement.

When the vehicle reached the 1300 block of Cambridge Road, the three occupants got out and ran off. Police quickly arrested one suspect, and officers assisted by a helicopter crew arrested the others in the area.

“It was later determined that one of the suspects forced their way into a residence in the 1300 block of Cambridge Road after fleeing from the vehicle,'' police said.

Roman Magdelano, 24, of Maywood, was booked on suspicion of residential burglary and vehicle theft.

Joanna Facio, 22, of Los Angeles, was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest, and also on an outstanding felony warrant.

Reynaldo Noriega, 30, of Maywood, was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and on three outstanding misdemeanor warrants.

Anyone with more information on the case was urged to call police at 626-300-0728, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
