Electronic Arts -- the video game maker responsible for The Sims, Madden NFL and NBA Live, among others -- is looking into a breach in which hackers broke into its system and stole game codes and other related tools.
- Players' personal data was not compromised during the breach, according to EA officials. "We have no reason to believe there is any risk to player privacy,” reads a statement from the Florida-based company. "Following the incident, we’ve already made security improvements and do not expect an impact on our games or our business."
- Director of Communications Lacey Haines says EA officials are "working with law enforcement officials and other experts" in an effort to track down the hackers.
