Representative Louie Gohmert is raising some eyebrows over a question he asked about climate change during a recent House Natural Resources Committee hearing.
The Texas Republican asked Jennifer Eberlien, an associate deputy chief of the Forest Service:
“Is there anything that the National Forest Service can do to change the course of the moon's orbit or the Earth's orbit around the sun? Obviously they would have profound effects on our climate. If you figure out a way that you in the Forest Service can make that change, I'd like to know.”
It is not clear if Gohmert was being serious, but Eberlien said she would follow up on it later for him.
