The White House Says Gas Prices Are 'Well In-Line'

It's Memorial Day weekend -- and although it seems like gas prices couldn't possibly get any higher -- The White House says gas prices are actually stabilizing...

As of right now, the national average price for a gallon of gas is $3.04, according to the American Automobile Association.

But if you live in California, you know that our average is much higher than that!!!

The White House released a statement ahead of the holiday weekend saying, “As Americans are hitting the road, they are paying less in real terms for gas than they have on average over the last 15 years, and they’re paying about the same as they did in May 2018 and May 2019. But, while prices have increased from the lows last year, as demand drastically dipped, prices at just about three-dollars per gallon are still well in-line with what they’ve been in recent decades.”

As of right now, the national average cost for a gallon of gas is $3.04, according to the American Automobile Association ― the highest it’s been in seven years.

The White House also says the stabilization of prices “is due in part to the administration’s aggressive, whole-of-government response to the unprecedented shutdown of that pipeline.”
