DOWNEY (CNS) - The Los Angeles County Library announced today it will reopen 21 more libraries and three bookmobiles for select in-person services beginning early next month.
The scheduled reopenings will bring to 81 the number of libraries reopened in the county system, officials said.
Opening for in-person services starting June 7 are Bell Gardens Library, George Nye Jr. Library in Lakewood, Hawaiian Gardens Library, Lake Los Angeles Library, Maywood Cesar Chavez Library and Westlake Village Library.
Libraries set to reopen for in-person services starting June 8 are:

-- Charter Oak Library in Covina;
-- Chet Holifield Library in Montebello;
-- Cudahy Library;
-- Florence Library;
-- Hollydale Library in South Gate;
-- Littlerock Library;
-- Lomita Library;
-- Los Nietos Library in Whittier;
-- Masao W. Satow Library in Gardena;
-- Norwood Library in El Monte;
-- Rivera Library in Pico Rivera.
-- South El Monte Library;
-- Temple City Library
The county library system said the libraries set to reopen are part of a phased reopening plan that prioritizes library openings based on geographic location, building availability, and the ability to accommodate physical distance guidelines and public health protocols.
The libraries will be reopened at 75% capacity, while maintaining six feet of physical distance for patrons as part of an effort to ensure that safety protocols are met and appropriate preventative measures are in place, officials said.
The county library's Antelope Valley Bookmobile, Santa Clarita Valley Bookmobile and Urban Outreach Bookmobile will also reopen for limited services at select stops beginning June 7.
