WHITTIER (CNS) - A shooting in the Whittier area left one man dead and another person wounded, authorities said today.
Officers were sent to the 12300 block of Slauson Avenue about 9 p.m. Thursday on a report of shots fired, according to the Whittier Police Department.
A man in his 20s died at the scene, police said. His name was withheld, pending notification of relatives. The other wounded person was taken to a hospital for treatment, and was expected to survive.
No arrests were reported, and no suspect description was available. Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call detectives at 562-567-9286.
