The LA City Council has okayed a budget proposal by Mayor Garcetti.
Garcetti has proposed an $11.2 billion budget, the largest in LA's history.
Councilmember Paul Krikorian says nearly a billion would go to addressing homelessness,
"Over $360 million in permanent supportive housing. With construction and development of 89 projects representing 5600 permanent homes."
More than 1.7 billion has been proposed for the LAPD. A final vote will be made next week.
