Firefighters Put Out Flames in Hyde Park Home

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - It took 29 firefighters 31 minutes this morning to put out a blaze that started in one room of a Hyde Park house and spread into the attic.

The fire was reported at 2:30 a.m. at 3486 W. 71st St., said the Los Angeles Fire Department's Margaret Stewart.

Flames were showing when firefighters arrived, Stewart said.

The fire was out at 3:01 a.m., she said.

One person was evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation but was unlikely to require transport by ambulance to a hospital, Stewart said.
