Long Beach Offers Unique Incentive to Convince Residents to Get Vaccinated

As the number of US residents getting vaccinated continues to drop, Long Beach is trying to coax hold outs into getting their shots by offering them free tickets.

City officials announced that effective immediately, every Long Beach resident who gets a first dose of vaccine will be given two tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Mayor Robert Garcia said:

“While we have made tremendous strides in vaccinating 60 percent of eligible Long Beach residents and 96 percent of our seniors, we know that vaccine hesitancy for some is real. We are going to do everything we can to encourage folks to get vaccinated, and that includes incentives.”

The promotion will continue through Saturday.
