INDUSTRY (CNS) - The city of Industry today launched a COVID-19 vaccination grant program, which aims to assist local businesses with financial costs associated with inoculating employees at their workplaces.

The city has allocated $100,000 for the program, in which businesses are able to receive a reimbursement of up to $5,000 for the administration of COVID-19 vaccines with an authorized provider.

“The city is honored to spearhead a grant program that makes it convenient and efficient for businesses to offer employees vaccines at their worksite,'' said Mayor Cory Moss. “Through this grant program, we hope to support our businesses that have worked tremendously during the pandemic to keep their employees safe.''

The grant program covers costs associated with the administration of the vaccine, excluding the vaccine itself. Business operators and all employees receiving the vaccine will be required to sign a waiver releasing the city from liability.

Since the pandemic began, the city has established two other COVID-19 business assistance grant programs, setting aside a total of $300,000 to fund COVID-19 testing program grants and $200,000 to fund outdoor business assistance grants that continue to be dispersed on a first-come, first-served basis to Industry businesses. A combined total of nearly $150,000 remains available for both grants, city officials said. Grants awarded to businesses are not required to be repaid.
