FAA Says Air Travelers Are Getting More Unruly, Dangerous

The FAA says air travelers are getting more unruly - and sometimes dangerous.

  • The agency has seen a dramatic spike in bad passenger behavior - more than 1,300 reported incidents, versus just 150 or so in a typical year.
  • That includes incidents like passengers who refuse to wear masks, get drunk, physically or verbally abuse flight attendants, or even fight each other.
  • The FAA says it is taking a 'zero-tolerance' approach to such behavior, and will respond with criminal charges, fines, or lifetime bans.
  • Have you flown on a plane since the pandemic began? Did you witness anyone misbehaving?
