GORMAN (CNS) - An asphalt trailer snapped in half on the Golden State (5) Freeway near Gorman today, spilling about 1,000 gallons of the substance across northbound lanes.
The spill on the northbound freeway just south of Highway 138 occurred a little after 4:20 a.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
A Sigalert was issued at 5:02 a.m. closing all northbound lanes at Highway 138 for an unknown duration.
At 5:30 a.m., the CHP said the snapped trailer was blocking the northbound No. 4 lane of traffic as well as the right shoulder of the highway.
The CHP reported at 6:48 a.m. that all northbound lanes of traffic would be shut down for at least three hours.
No injuries were reported.
