LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and flew over a Santa Monica (10) Freeway overpass in downtown Los Angeles, landing on a street below where he was pronounced dead, the California Highway Patrol announced today.
The crash was reported about 11:20 p.m. Thursday on the transition to the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway, according to the CHP.
The rider went over the overpass and landed on Venice Boulevard, where he was pronounced dead by a Los Angeles Fire Department paramedic, the CHP said.
The transition road was closed until further notice.
The name of the victim and details of what led to the crash were not immediately available.
