Armed Man Dies in Reported Deputy-Involved Shooting in Lake Los Angeles

LAKE LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man was killed today in a shooting involving sheriff's deputies in the Lake Los Angeles area, authorities said.

The man died at the scene of the shooting, which occurred about 11:05 a.m. in the 39400 block of 167th Street East, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. No deputies were injured.

Information on the fatally wounded man's identity was not immediately available.

Deputies were sent to the area about 8:30 a.m. on a report that a man allegedly fired a shotgun at people who may have been trying to remove large rocks that had been placed across Rawhide Avenue, blocking traffic, according to KTLA5.

Authorities set up a perimeter in the area and began looking for the man, who at one point was thought to be barricaded in a building, according to reports from the scene. Details of the fatal shooting were not immediately released.
