Florida Private School Says It Won't Employ Vaccinated Teachers

A private school in South Florida says it won't employ any teachers or staff that have been vaccinated for COVID-19.

  • The Centner Academy in Miami sent an email to parents declaring "It is our policy, to the extent possible, not to employ anyone who has taken the experimental COVID-19 injection until further information is known."
  • The school's founders say they want more data on whether the vaccine "is impacting unvaccinated individuals" - but did not offer any scientific evidence to back up their claim.
  • The Dade County teacher's union accused the school of spreading "misinformation" and "propaganda" and called the school - which opened last September and has about 300 students - "illegally run and uncertified".
  • Is it legal to refuse to hire someone over getting vaccinated? How should schools handle the subject of vaccination?
