Venice House Fire Quickly Extinguished

VENICE (CNS) - A fire that burned inside a home in Venice this morning was extinguished in just 18 minutes.

Firefighters responded at 3:37 a.m. to the 100 block of Club House Avenue, east of Pacific Avenue, and received unconfirmed reports of a person possibly trapped inside the burning house, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

A primary and secondary search was conducted and no occupants were located, she said.

A total of 26 firefighters extinguished the flames, and a knock down was called at 3:55 a.m.

Flames affected two nearby power poles, but no wires were down and it was unclear if any power outages were caused, Stewart said.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
