LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Fire damaged three vehicles this morning in a carport near a two-story apartment building in the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw area.

Firefighters responded at 12:50 a.m. to the 4800 block of Linscott Place, near Coliseum Street, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews encountered arcing wires over the fire, and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power was notified about the hazard, she said.

A total of 31 firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to the nearby building, and a knock down was called at 1:27 a.m., Stewart said.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
