PASADENA (CNS) - The Pasadena Police Department today released a description of a suspect wanted in a double homicide in a park in December, and also circulated a photo of one of two vehicles believed connected to the crime.

Officers were sent to the 300 block of Parke Street at about 3 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2020, on reports of a shooting and found three men suffering from gunshot wounds in the northeast section of Villa Parke, police said.

Cristino Avila, 51, died at scene, and Aaron Flores, 40, died at hospital, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. The third man was hospitalized in critical but stable condition and survived. His name was not released.

On April 7, detectives released a description and photo of the type of car believed was involved in the case, described as a newer model white Mercedes with black rims.

“Since releasing the photo, detectives have obtained additional information, including a description of one of the involved suspects,'' Lt. Jesse Carrillo said.

The suspect was described as in his late teens to early 20s, tall and thin, who wore black clothing, Carrillo said.

“Detectives also obtained surveillance footage of a second suspect vehicle believed to be involved in the murder(s),'' Carrillo said.

That car was described as a black or blue 2010 Nissan Altima with faded paint and a paper “Penske'' license plate.

Anyone with information on the case was urged to call detectives at 626-744-4511 or 626-744-4241. Anonymous tips may be called to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at www.lacrimestoppers.org.
