Apparent Gas Leak Damages Home In Valley Glen, At Least One Person Hurt

VALLEY GLEN (CNS) - An explosion, apparently caused by a gas leak, rocked a house tonight in Valley Glen, leaving one person critically injured and a second buried in rubble.

The explosion severely damaged the home at 12739 Archwood St., and wass reported at 9:26 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

One man was transported to a hospital with critical burn injuries, Stewart said. A second person was dug out of the debris by firefighters, who are trying to determine what if any injuries that person suffered.

It was not immediately know if there were more people in the home, Stewart continued. Southern California Gas Company is sending out a crew, she added.
