Little Change to Average Southland Gas Prices

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was unchanged today, remaining at $3.972 after rising 13 times in 16 days to its highest amount since Nov. 20, 2019.

The average price increased 4.8 cents over the past 16 days, including a half-cent Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 1.8 cents more than one week ago, 14.8 cents higher than one month ago and 98.5 cents greater than one year ago.

The average price has risen 74 cents since the start of the year, mainly because of a run of 59 increases in 60 days totaling 57.9 cents that ended March 21.

The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of a cent to $3.951 after rising five times in six days to its highest amount since Nov. 16, 2019. It is 1.7 cents more than one week ago, 13.4 cents higher than one month ago and 99.3 cents greater than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen 74.3 cents since the start of the year, mainly because of a run of 72 increases in 73 days totaling 68.1 cents that ended March 20.
