COMPTON (CNS) - Two men were shot in Compton and one of them died from his wounds, authorities said today.
The shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Matthisen Avenue, according to Deputy Tracy Koerner of the Sheriff's Information Bureau.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken by paramedics to a hospital, where his condition was “unknown at this time,'' Koerner said.
Deputies were summoned to the scene for an assault with a deadly weapon call and found the wounded men, he said.
No additional information was available, he said.
