Man Arrested After Leading Police on Slow-Speed Pursuit in Stolen U-Haul

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man in a stolen U-Haul box truck who led officers on a slow-speed pursuit in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles today surrendered after about six hours.

The man was taken into custody shortly after 6 a.m. near Sixth Street and La Brea Avenue. His name was not immediately available.

Officers began following the truck about 11:45 p.m. Thursday near Lucerne Boulevard and Eighth Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The driver led police on a slow-speed chase, stopping several times, and eventually went to the area of the Park La Brea apartment complex. There, he stopped again and was surrounded by officers in patrol vehicles.

Following a standoff, the man got out of the truck and surrendered.
