Apparently Vacant South L.A. House Catches Fire

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - It took 36 firefighters 18 minutes to put out flames in an apparently vacant two-story house in South Los Angeles, authorities said today.

The fire was reported at 11:36 p.m. Sunday at 443 E. Vernon Ave., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department's Nicholas Prange.

No injuries were reported, Prange said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
